Elia Grid Hosting Capacity: remaining available capacity per node, profile and flexibility level
be_elia_hcm_v2 · vhostingcapacitymap v2, target years 2027 and 2031 (reference context: Adequacy & Flexibility study and FDP 2024-2034)Elia computes, per node and target year, how many additional MW of consumption or production at one location at a time could be hosted without additional grid investments, on top of the reference operating state (reserved and allocated capacity treated identically, pre-reservations included except those of the same technology, pending reservations included for large batteries only, and a low-voltage margin). N and N-1 per SOGL over 100 representative situations with a PTDF linearisation, capped per voltage level. Not considered: voltage limits, short-circuit current, bay constraints, dynamic topologies, redispatch, PST taps, and DSO constraints on MV connections.

The operator’s own caveats
- 'Validity: all information shown is non-binding.'
- An approximation of the hosting capacity 'for nominal capacities < 300 MW'.
- Values are not cumulative across nodes: they hold for one location at a time.
- 'A maximum capacity per voltage level is considered' to ensure a harmonious development of the transmission system.
